Changelog

21 Jul 2026

Added
  • New recipes: Tim Wendelboe's V60, Aeropress, and iced V60.

20 Jul 2026

Added
  • Recipes and water profiles can carry a background colour behind their image, so a roaster's logo sits on its own brand colour instead of on white.
  • A pour's flow rate can now be a range, and so can the target TDS and extraction yield.
  • New gear: the Kalita Wave 155, Wave 185 and Mino 185 brewers, and Aeropress paper filters.
  • The homepage's "Surprise me!" button now opens a random recipe. It previously went to the full list, the same as the button above it.
  • Recipes and water profiles now take comments. Comments can be upvoted, and the most useful ones rise to the top.
  • When you comment on a recipe you can say which grinder and grind size worked for you. Optional, and it will go towards grind recommendations later on.
  • A privacy policy is added. It sets out what is collected, what other people can see, and which other services your visit touches.
  • A contact page, and terms of use. There is now one address to write to about a wrong credit, a takedown, a privacy request, or something broken.
Changed
  • Saving a new recipe now takes you straight to it, the way saving a water profile already did, instead of leaving you on a confirmation screen.
  • Embedded videos now wait for your permission. Nothing is requested from YouTube until you allow it, the answer is remembered, and you can change it on the privacy page.
Fixed
  • The homepage carousels rested half a card out of step after they first advanced, so a tablet showed one whole card between two halves rather than two whole ones.
  • On the add forms, fields sharing a row lined up a few pixels apart when one of them had a Range switch, and fields with a range left empty space beside them on mid-size screens.
  • Focusing a field now darkens its border, the same as every other field. Some drew a thick outline instead.

19 Jul 2026

Added
  • Water profiles now scale to your batch, the way recipes and DIY concentrates already did. Set the volume and every mineral amount follows.
  • Water profiles in the homepage carousels now carry a droplet, so you can tell them from recipes at a glance.
Changed
  • A new app icon: the one-way valve symbol itself.
  • Pages open much faster.
  • On recipe and water profile pages, values now stand out from the labels beside them, and where a recipe came from has moved to the foot of the page.
Fixed
  • The homepage carousels showed one card where they should have shown two, on tablet-width screens.
  • The carousels kept animating after scrolling out of view, which made the page feel sluggish while you were reading something else.
  • Card titles now respond when you hover them.
  • Number fields in the filters, the scale menu and the brew adjuster showed nothing when focused, so there was no way to tell where you were when tabbing through them.
  • The calculated values on the forms — the ratio, and the water profile totals — were too faint to read.
  • A failed save on the recipe and water profile forms is now announced to screen readers.
  • The page no longer jumps when you open a delete confirmation.
  • Whole-number amounts on water profiles and DIY concentrates no longer show a trailing decimal, and the concentrate amounts line up.
  • The footer is centred on phones, the gap below the water profile scale bar is gone, and the water profile form's submit button says the right thing.

17 Jul 2026

Added
  • Clone any recipe or water profile to start one of your own from it. Everything carries over, and nothing is saved until you say so.
  • Verified recipes and water profiles now carry a green check, on the card and on the page itself.
  • The homepage carousels now do what they say. Featured is hand-picked, Trending is what has been favourited most in the last 7 days, and Latest is the newest — and all three mix recipes and water profiles.
  • Recipes and water profiles now arrive 12 at a time with a Load more button, instead of the whole library at once.
Changed
  • Pages open quicker. The lists and detail pages ask the database for a fraction of what they used to, and only for the page you are on.

16 Jul 2026

Added
  • The bloom is now optional. A checkbox on the first pour marks whether it blooms, and the bloom can be deleted — so you can put an instruction before it.
  • Pressing Brew now scrolls straight to the brewing steps.
  • The brew timer buzzes 5 seconds before each step, and again when the brew finishes.
  • Recipes and water profiles now show who added them and when they were last updated. Sign-ups with an email now pick a username, which is what gets credited.
  • Search now matches words in any order and copes with word endings, so "hoff v60" finds "Hoffmann's V60".
  • New gear: Hario V60 Switch-02 and Switch-03 brewers, and Spoon under tools.
  • DIY concentrates now scale to any batch. Set the volume in millilitres or gallons and the amounts follow.
  • The brew timer scrolls as it goes, keeping the step you have just passed and the ones still to come on screen.
Changed
  • The Hario V60-01 Plastic and Ceramic brewers are now just Hario V60-01, joined by V60-02 and V60-03.
  • The "Hario untabbed" and "Hario tabbed" filters are now "Hario Untabbed" and "Hario Standard".
Fixed
  • Whole-number ratios no longer show a trailing decimal — 1:16 instead of 1:16.0.
  • A brew step can no longer start after the drawdown has finished.
  • Time fields accept a typed colon again, and read 1230 as 12:30.
  • Tidied up spacing on recipe and water profile pages, including the stray gap beside the favourite button.

15 Jul 2026

Added
  • Scale a recipe to your dose. The steps, water and Instagram export all follow, and a Default option puts it back.
Changed
  • Likes are now favourites, and the favourites filter moved out of the filter sheet into its own toggle.
Fixed
  • Carousel arrows work when scrolled off-screen, and Newest is highlighted as the default sort.
